10.1-megapixel sensor

At the heart of this EOS is the powerful DIGIC III processor, which handles and performs camera tasks faster than ever. Combined with a high-performance 10.1-megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor, it captures the largest volume of image data in high resolution and with exceptional detail and clarity. Less image noise and precise colour gradation add a lifelike feel for realistic and amazing photographs naturally.

7-point AF sensor

The EOS 1000D’s super-fast 7-point sensor with 35-zone metering sensor easily finds your subject and puts it into focus, no matter where it is in the frame. When shooting moving subjects such as children or animals, the motion prediction function ensures continuous focus on your subject to give you extremely sharp action shots in a snap.

Live View shooting

In addition to using the viewfinder, this EOS also lets you shoot via the camera’s large 2.5-inch LCD screen for greater control. With a larger viewing area and 100% image coverage, it’s easier to compose shots and verify image focus. Furthermore, useful features such as the 3x3 grid line display, two autofocus modes and on-screen enlargement of up to 5x or 10x help you to verify and attain the most accurate focus for every photo possible.
